Is there anything you want to ask us? Write to us and we will be happy to respond to all your questions as soon as possible.
- When can I do the challenge?
In principle it is possible to complete this adventure from around the end of June to the end of September, but it depends on the amount of snow at high altitude. Please check the actual conditions before choosing the day that you want to take on the challenge.
- What is the award for completing the tour?
If you reach all 4 peaks in a single day, you will receive a certificate, a handsome Alta Badia Mountaineer medal and you will also be mentioned on the Wall of Fame, if you want to. If, on the other hand, you scale the 4 peaks over several days, you will be awarded a medal as an Alta Badia Finisher. Furthermore, you will receive a certificate and your name will be published on the Alta Badia Finisher page of our Wall of Fame. To obtain the title of Alta Badia Mountaineer, remember to present your 4 Peaks Card at a 4 Peaks Alta Badia information office by 11:00 am on the day after the tour. Alta Badia Finishers can on the other hand present their cards at a later time.
- How much does it cost to participate?
Anyone can participate in this adventure for free, but if you want to officially participate in the challenge, i.e. with a 4 Peaks Card and a starter kit, a contribution of €40.00 is required.
- Can I also participate for free?
Anyone can do the proposed 4 Peaks Alta Badia route without signing up. Obviously, in this case, no starter kit or final prizes are available: these are only for those officially participating in the challenge.
- How can I sign up and where can I collect my starter kit?
There are several ways of officially participating in the challenge. Signing up, registration and signing the information form can all be done either directly online or at the ticket office of the La Crusc/Santa Croce chairlift. After signing up, each official participant in the 4 Peaks Alta Badia challenge can collect their chosen starter kit when signing up at the different 4 Peaks Alta Badia information offices.
- What should I bring with me for the day?
It is essential to have the 4 Peaks Card with you, appropriate equipment for vie ferrate (harness, carabiners, helmet and gloves are recommended), proper technical clothing, sufficient food and drinks, a map of the trails, a mobile phone and a list containing important numbers. It is also recommended to undertake the adventure in company rather than alone, and it is important to check the weather conditions to make sure these are favourable for the whole day.
- fter having reached the summit, how can I prove I have actually conquered it?
On each summit you will find a “checkpoint” with a punch that allows you to punch your 4 Peaks Card with different symbols to confirm that you have reached the summit.
- What do I do if the punches on the peaks do not work or are missing?
If the punches have been tampered with or are not working, take a picture of yourself on the summit as confirmation that you have reached the top. When you bring your 4 Peaks Card to pick up your prize by 11:00 am the next day at one of the 4 Peaks information offices, our staff will check your card and any photos.
- Can the tour date be changed even after registering?
The tour date is not mandatory: you can register online on a certain day and take on the tour at another time. However, it is essential that the date on which you intend to do the tour is specified on the entry form at the time you collect your starter kit. To prove that all 4 Peaks have been reached in a single day, you must collect your 4 Peaks Card and starter kit after 3:00 pm on the day before the tour, and it is mandatory to present the 4 Peaks Card at one of the information offices by 11:00 am on the day following the date of the tour shown on the card. Only in this way will the card – and therefore the challenge – be valid for you to be awarded the title of Alta Badia Mountaineer. Those completing the tour over several days can hand in their 4 Peaks Card at any time to be named as an Alta Badia Finisher.
- Where can I get my certificate and my Alta Badia Mountaineer or Finisher medal?
After completing the tour, you can go to one of the 4 Peaks Alta Badia information offices to get your Alta Badia Mountaineer or Alta Badia Finisher certificate and medal for free.
- What do I have to do to have my name published on the Wall of Fame?
Once you have completed the 4 Peaks challenge, present your 4 Peaks Card at a 4 Peaks information office to confirm you have completed the tour. If you have reached all 4 summits in one day, your name will be published as an Alta Badia Mountaineer on the Wall of Fame; if you have completed the tour over several days, you will be named as an Alta Badia Finisher on the Wall of Fame.
